What is Life Coaching?

Life Coaching is a profession that is completely different from Counselling, Advice, Consulting or Therapy. Coaching is the process that examines what is currently going on in a person’s life, unpacking obstacles and challenges and then formulating a course of action to help clients achieve what they want in life.

How is Coaching different from Counselling and Psychotherapy?

Coaching is all about the forward momentum and helping others to achieve their goals. Coaching focuses on creating and maintaining motivation for a positive change, overcoming fears and making an action plan to reaching goals.

Counselling focuses on the present and the past with helping people to address underlying issues and by resolving deeper emotional problems by using different forms of therapy techniques.

How do Coaching sessions work?

Coaching sessions begin by taking a free 20 minute telephone consultation in order to discuss what goals you want and this also gives you a brief understanding of who your mentor will be as it’s important to find a coach that will help you to get the results you specifically want in order to achieve your ambitions. Sessions are carried out via telephone, email, skype and even face to face.

Why Life Coaching?

Coaching is the 2nd fastest growing industry in the world and is getting more and more popular each day, this is because technology is getting so sophisticated. Meaning that we as humans are getting less and less human connection and our nervous system needs human connection so we need to be coached in order to get this connection back.

How long should I get Life Coaching for?

Every individual is unique and has different goals, views and ambitions therefore it depends on how long it takes for the coach to identify limiting beliefs and finding the patterns in order to overcoming those beliefs. The coach will then create a plan for action, however this will be different for each client and you will have a new daily pattern where new habits will be formed in order to achieve the results you want.

How does Life Coaching sessions with the Flawed Journey work?

Begin with a free 20 minute consultation during this session your coach will begin to identify your current limiting beliefs, fears, set backs and get a clear understanding on what you want to gain in life. We then arrange suitable sessions which are suggested for each client to begin with 1 session per week for minimum 6 weeks but this depends on the end goal and how willing the client is to reaching this point.

Over your coaching sessions we will go through an 8 step process which helped the Founder Emma, narrow her vision and find a clear understanding for her future actions.

What is the 8 step process for Coaching with the Flawed Journey?

  • Identify negative patterns & breaking out of those recurring patterns.
  • Analysing your goals and options to achieving them.
  • Mapping your goals – weekly, monthly, yearly.
  • Finding a strategy & then developing your strategy.

How is coaching different with The Flawed Journey?

Coaching with Emma is different as she has a background of Psychology and Counselling therefore she already has the experience within helping clients overcome fears, anxiety and obstructions preventing them to living a fulfilling life. Emma wanted to become a Life Coach as she has a strong passion in helping others and believes Life Coaching is turning Self Development into a career. Emma has been through a unique journey herself and has overcome various fears, set backs and achieved many of her goals that she once believed were unrealistic by creating an 8 step process and believes that if it worked for her that it can also work for anyone!

Emma is also an NLP (Neuro – Linguistic Programming) Practitioner and will use this technique on clients in order to “reprogramme” clients patterns of thinking and behaviour. NLP comes from Modern Psychology and works on the basis of accessing a client’s perception of the world and adapting our behaviour and reactions to enable us to live a happy life.

The Flawed Journey is dedicated to helping others therefore has an accurate tactic to help each individual client and will not pressure clients with ongoing unnecessary sessions, sales pitches or unrealistic plans.

Is Coaching confidential?

YES all discussions carried out during coaching sessions will be 100% kept confidential between the client and the coach and you will receive terms and conditions which will include this as confirmation.

What are your terms and conditions?

Terms and conditions are outlined in your coaching agreement and you will receive a copy prior to beginning your coaching sessions. It is your responsibility to ensure this documentation is signed and returned to me prior to your first session commencing and causing delay will lead to delay of your session commencing on time.

Where are you located for clients?

I’m currently located in Sydney, Australia but I do all therapy and coaching sessions from my home meaning no matter where you are located it doesn’t matter. We have such high technology that you can be located anywhere in the world and find the resources or help you need by sitting in the comfort of your own home and we can carry out all sessions online via email, telephone, face time or skype.

Do Life Coaches need to have qualifications?

Yes all Life Coaches must have completed a coaching course and will then qualify with a recognised professional body however qualifications don’t mean anything if you don’t have a good communicating relationship with your coach. If you feel uncomfortable with your coach you are unlikely to gain much from your sessions and this is why we offer a free 20 minute consultation so you can gauge how comfortable you will be with Emma as your mentor.

Emma has recently qualified as a Certified Life Coach an took a course over 6 months on top of attending seminars and workshops in her spare time to gain further knowledge in order to help clients gain a better understanding within their lives.
